It has been quite a battle between some artistes, music promoters, managers and Ovie of notjustok.com. According to the above mentioned people who have teamed up as a group, are accusing the notjustok.com boss of being partial about the songs on his website. ‘He promotes the songs of his friends online and hardly welcomes any upcoming artiste who does not belong to his clique’, a music promoter said. The message which was spread across BB yesterday reads thus;
@Ovie of notjustok.com is a fucked, stupid and useless guy. He is playing politics and cliq fing. Why should we the poor then patronize him, if he can’t post the up and coming stars on his website for the whole world to see. There wld be a change soon, if we can work hand in hand 2 tackle this issue.

Aside this and the many tweets we saw, one tweet really got our attention and it was the one of music producer and the pioneer of coded tunes who dropped a voice on this. ‘Why must people die b4 u appreciate them? Errybody standing 4 d ghetto king dagrin yet nt standing 4 wat he stood 4! D STREET!’ directed at Ovie.
Getting in touch with Ovie, and he denied rejecting any upcoming artiste’s song and even asked me to login to the site and be the judge. We can only hope this fight stops now before it gets out of hand, as some artistes are already taking sides. And if care is not taken, this might leave a big crack in the music industry.

As at yesterday, Report has it that Ben Bruce's bid for Governor of Bayelsa has been cut short after initially being denied by PDP. But the silverbird boss has denied the report. He told vanguard
"To the best of my knowledge, nobody has been ousted from the race. If you are ousted from the race, they have to let you know you are ousted from the race. There is no communication to that effect. So everybody is speculating. The race is the only one in the country right now. It is exciting. Everybody is talking about it but nobody has been ousted from the race."
He stated a part of the Nigerian constitution that addressed the issue of dual citizenship which has been cited as the reason he was denied the right to run. He said dual citizenship is not a constitutional barrier to being the Governor.
"Subject to the other provisions of this section, a person shall forfeit forthwith his Nigerian citizenship if, not being a citizen of Nigeria by birth, he acquires or retains the citizenship or nationality of a country, other than Nigeria, of which he is not a citizen by birth."
"That is why the Constitution protects
me. So it is impossible to oust me from the race based on that. I cannot be ousted from the race based on that. I was born in Nigeria."

That's right! Enough of the controversies surrounding Tonto Dikeh's acting career both on and off screen, well that has kept her relevant, here comes the musical alter ego of the actress.
Its no news that Kas signed Tonto Dikeh to his music label as an artist. Tonto who has an album in the works has credited Kas with kick starting her new found music career. Although, she isn't swapping her gig as an Actress to be a full-time singer.
Kas has revealed via twitter that he's featuring Tonto Dikeh on a track off his upcoming album. They were in the studio recently working on the track.
Errrm...sad days for music? And I hear Omotola is also planning to release another album sometimes this year.
Well, not sure if this is the type of "talent" that we are looking forward to in the nigerian music scene.
