LAGOS— The National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency NDLEA, yesterday, said the extra 15 days granted by a Federal High Court in Lagos for it to keep ace actor and popular comedian, Babatunde Omidina aka, Baba Suwe, in its custody is a clear confirmation that the scanning machine used in screening the actor at the airport was not defective.
This is coming against the backdrop of insinuations that the machine used in scanning Baba Suwe at the airport was defective and that accounted for the inability of the agency to pin him down with crime of drug trafficking.
Spokesman of the agency, Mitchell Ofoyeju, told Vanguard over the phone, yesterday, that people should stop insinuating that NDLEA’s machine is defective.
He said: ”I assure you that the screening machine used at the airport for the screening is very much in good condition. It is working fine. I must point out that 90 per cent of people who go through the screening with a positive result ended up excreting drugs.
That was part of the reason we gave the court that made them extend the date. Remember also that we took him to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Luth, and the scanning machine confirmed it also. So, I advice Nigerians to forget these insinuations, I assure you that within a short time, the truth will be out. We have nothing to hide.”
Today marks a year since we lost our friend, brother, producer extraordinaire, musician SAZZY (Osaze Omonbude).
Please find attached and the link below a remix to his exclusive single which still gets heads bumping - Mr. C.
The remix features Mr. OuttaTown, Zara Gretti, Yoki, Rilwan, SDC, Kanebi, Bush, Supreme Solar, DjATTE.
It was recorded at the Play Station Studios, Alaka Estate, Surulere, Lagos.
We miss Sazzy and the Nigerian music industry misses him too.
Sazzy's music lives on!
