Nobody tries that defensive football the Ghanaians played at Angola and expects to win a match at the world cup. The Ghanaians were out-played in their match against Nigeria and quite lucky to have beaten a more experienced Nigerian side which was unfortunately profligate at the goal and naive in defense.
The weaknesses and inexperience of the Black stars were clearly exposed and punished by a more tactical Egyptian side at the finals.
Even the Ghanaian coach confessed at the onset that he was improvising with players available to him because most of his key players were injured. So Ghana should be left out of the analogy of the Super Eagles.
Granted that Amodu is tactically deficient and needs some help (preferably indigenous), the worst mistake Nigeria will make at this stage of her preparation for the world cup will be to jettison their experienced players for green horns or hire a new coach.
More so, out of the barrage of foreign coaches that featured at Angola, it is worthy of note that the countries with indigenous coaches (Egypt and Nigeria) still placed 1st and 3rd. The baby should not be thrown away with the bathing water.
