Super Eagles coach, Shaibu Amodu may have to make do without star player,Obafemi Martins, at the Africa Cup of Nations after the Wolfsburg striker’s injury woes seem set to continue.

Martins has been out of action ever since he underwent surgery on a shin injury back in November and has since been struggling to return to full match fitness in time for the Nations Cup.

A decision about whether the attacker will be included in Nigeria’s final Africa Cup of Nations squad would have been made by Friday, the Nigerian Football Federation said.

Martins was being examined by Nigerian medical staff in Durban last Thursday to determine the extent of his recovery.
Nigeria face Benin, Mozambique and defending champions, Egypt, in Group C in the tournament in Angola, which starts on Sunday.
